As of 2026, the cemetery is being looked after primarily by Sonny Edgerton (Nahunta) and Jennifer Skinner (Kenly).

The cemetery was formally established through a deed dated March 21, 1938, in which W. F. Flowers (widower) conveyed land to Cassie E. Lynch, Floyd Edgerton, and Girney Edgerton, who were named as Trustees of the Edgerton Burial Ground.

Established around 1940, the cemetery contains approximately 150 burials and has been cared for by family members across generations.
